St George’s Night 23 April

Town put their weather problems to one side as they celebrated St George’s Day on Monday. The Clubhouse was decked in red and white and a two-course meal was served. This was followed by a Quiz based on St George which proved to be a big success as no one knew anything about him, apart from the colour of his flag. The evening ended with a stirring rendition of Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Brittania with much gusto and flag waving. The event was organised by Sue and Graham Allen with help from Marion Thorne and Sandra Brayne in preparing the meal. A raffle was organised by Heather Fitch and Jocelyn Schirn. A great evening was enjoyed by all who attended.
