KTBC v Victoria June 11

Keith BastonFriendly Match

Kingsbridge Town entertained Victoria from Torquay on Saturday. Having lost 3 matches on the road, Town was hoping for a change in fortune for their 1st home match of the season. Things looked good at half time as Town held a 33-24 lead but Victoria were rejuvenated by the tea and fought back in the 2nd half to take the honours with a 55-70 victory.

Town’s only successful rink, skipped by Kevin Moore was always in control, doubling a 10-5 lead at the break to a comfortable 20-10 win. On Keith Baston’s rink a 9-5 interval lead was lost  but a count of 4 on the 16th end regained the lead 15-14 but 2 singles by the visitors took the match by 1 shot. Similarly, Keith Brayne’s rink was 12-6 ahead but 2 disastrous ends cost 10 shots as the visitors won by 6 shots. There was a different story on John Yeabsley’s rink as the home side only won 4 ends as the away side amassed 24 shots.
