Town played host to The Den for the very first fixture between the clubs. Although 2 rinks were involved in close games, the visitors prevailed on all 3 rinks to gain 8 league points, with a final score of 34-54.
Keith Baston’s rink was 2 shots up going into the final end but a count of 3 gave the visitors the points. Eric Fitch’s trio was 10-9 up after 12 ends but a count of 3 was then dropped and this made the difference. Ray Lancaster’s threesome struggled against a strong side who scored counts of 5 and 4 in the first half.
