Town welcomed neighbours Kingsbridge Park for the 2nd leg of the Cup Competition between the sides. The home side had a mountain to climb as Park held a 25 shot advantage from the 1st leg and this was increased by 9 shots in the 1st half. Town pulled back in the 2nd half but still lost by 3 shots, 60-63 and by 116-144 overall.
On Tim Lewis’s rink, Park, skipped by John Yeabsley held a 2-11 lead at 8 ends but Town fought back to level the scores at end 15 and then score a count of 6 to lead 19-13, finally winning by 19-17. Eric Fitch’s rink held a 15-7 lead after 14 ends thanks to a count of 5 on the 8th end. However, John Harding’s trio scored 7 shots in the last 4 ends as Town won by 16-14. Keith Baston’s rink was becalmed on 4 shots as Richard Kerswell’s team scored 9 shots in 6 ends to take a 4-14 lead . Town then scored 8 shots in the last 5 ends but lost out by 2 shots. Similarly, David Thorne’s rink dropped 14 consecutive shots from 5-3 to 5-17 when a count of 6 on the 18th end brought the deficit down to 5 shots.
