Having beaten Buckfastleigh on their own green a month ago, Town went into this match with hopes of another victory but the away side had other ideas as they cruised to a 44-62 victory.
Town’s only winning rink, skipped by Keith Baston, was involved in a very close game. The score was 7-all after 8 ends but runs of 7 and 6 in the second half prove to be decisive. Eric Fitch’s trio was 9-8 up at the break but 9 shots were then dropped in 3 ends to trail 9-17 and despite a comeback at the end they trailed by 3 shots. Kevin Moore’s rink had a bad start, 1-11 down after 6 ends and the visitors then bossed the match to win by 19 shots.
