Town visited Buckfastleigh for their 1st match in the South Devon Mixed Bowling League this season. Town started very poorly and were 5-14 down after 5 ends but they fought back and held a lead of one shot at the interval, 24-23. In a hard fought 2nd half, the visitors held their nerve to win by 47-42.
On Keith Baston’s rink a deficit of 5 shots after 4 ends was countered by a score of 4 on the next end and they then scored 9 shots to win by 17-10. Similarly, Kevin Moore’s rink was 0-3 down after 3 ends but parity was reached at the break, 8-all, and 9 shots in the 2nd half gave them a 4 shot victory. Eric Fitch’s trio were involved in a very tight game, 12-all after 14 ends but the home side scored a count of 4 to win by 6 shots.
