On Sunday, Town travelled to Buckfastleigh for their 3rd away match in the South Devon Mixed Bowling League, hoping to open their account in the points table. Despite taking a 22-14 lead into the break history repeated itself as they lost by 36-41.
The damage was done on Keith Baston’s rink where a lead of 8-6 after 11 ends was turned on its head as the home side then scored 13 shots in the last 7 ends.
The other two rinks did very well. Kevin Moore’s rink held a 10-3 advantage at the break and held their nerve to win by 6 shots. John Yeabsley’s rink was involved in a very tight game as the honours were shared with a well earned draw.
Details:- Eric Fitch, Tracey Moore, Kevin Moore won 17-11. Tony Walters, Sandra Brayne, John Yeabsley drew 11-11. Sue Allen, Steve Ellis, Keith Baston lost 8-19.
So Town won 3 league points and they are hoping for an improvement with all 5 home matches still to play.
