Town played at Totnes in the 1st leg of the Summers Trophy. This was a very close contest with the home side winning by 2 shots on the final end, 58-60. So Town have a great chance of winning the trophy in the return leg in August.
Keith Baston’s rink was always in control as they took an 8 shot lead into the final end but a count of 4 was then dropped to reduce the margin to 4 shots. John Yeabsley’s trio was 5-12 down after 12 ends but 12 shots in the last 6 ends gave them a 4 shot win. On Ray Lancaster’s rink a close match was won by the home side on the last end by 2 shots. Kevin Moore’s rink only scored on 6 ends as they went down by 8 shots.
