Town nearly pulled off an 8th win when they travelled to Totnes on Sunday for the 1st leg of the Summers Trophy. At the break, Town were 10 shots down but a better 2nd half nearly brought victory as Town lost by just 3 shots 57-60. It is hoped that this deficit can be reversed in the return leg at Kingsbridge in August.

Keith Baston’s rink was 2 down at half time, 4-6 but the home team were restricted to just 4 more shots as Town won by 5 shots. David Thorne’s trio dropped a count of 5 as they trailed by 9-17 with 4 ends to play but two counts of 3 brought the deficit down to 4 shots at the end. Eric Fitch’s rink held their own at the break but a run of 8 shots by the home side in the 2nd half made the difference.
