Town visited Stoke Fleming for a match in the
South Hams Triples League needing another victory to put pressure on the leaders Dartmouth. The conditions were not good as steady rain fell throughout the match but an exciting match was played with the final score again dependant on the final end. which was narrowly won by the home side to restrict Town to 4 league points.
Eric Fitch’s rink came running out of the blocks to establish an 8-0 lead after 7 ends and this proved to be the winning margin. Keith Baston’s rink had a poor 1st half as they trailed 4-13 after 10 ends but a great fightback brought the scores level 14-all with 1 end to play. Town were holding 2 shots and in sight of 6 points when the opposing skip drew shot to win by a single shot.
The final score was 31-24 to Town, gaining 4 league points to Stoke’s 2.
