Kingsbridge Town played their first match of the season at Plymstock and despite winning on 2 rinks they went down by 25 shots, 55-80. Three rinks were involved in very close matches but the other rink, skipped by captain Keith Brayne, came up against very strong opponents, winning only 2 ends as the home side amassed 30 shots.

On Keith Baston’s rink, counts of 5 and 4 gave them a lead of 15-8 after 11 ends but the home side fought back to 15-all but 7 shots in the last 4 ends gave them a 22-17 win.
Tim Lewis’s rink was involved in a close match that went to the last end 15-all but 2 shots gave Kingsbridge a 2 shot win.
On Eric Fitch’s the scores were tied 9-all at half time but the home side drew away into a 10-18 lead before 4 shots by the visitors brought the difference down to 4 shots.
