Town travelled to Plymstock for a Triples match hoping for their 1st away victory of the season and they were not disappointed. The match was finely poised 33-32 at the break but the visitors found another gear in the 2nd half as they won by 23 shots, 77-54.
On Eric Fitch’s rink, Town were 10-5 up at the break but 3 counts of 4 gave them a 15 shot advantage. David Thorne’s rink built a 9-1 lead by the 5th end but then dropped a count of 6 to lead 12-9 at the break. They then restricted the home side to 2 further shots as they won by 11 shots, 22-11. Keith Baston’s rink was 1-6 down after 7 ends but counts of 4 and 6 put them in the lead but a count of 4 was then dropped and the match finished in a 16-16 draw. Tim Lewis’s trio were involved in a seesaw game as a 2-10 deficit was reversed by 10 unanswered shots to lead 12-10 but a count of 5 on the last end gave the home side their only win.
