Town visited Plymstock  and for the 3rd away match in a row they just fell short of victory losing by 7 shots 58-65. The match was very closely contested and the home side held a lead of only one shot going into the last end but Town failed to add to their tally when it mattered as they dropped a further 6 shots.

David Thorne’s rink held a healthy 16-7 lead at 12 ends but they could add only 2 more shots as the home side pulled it back to 18-14. Similarly, Tim Lewis’s team were  13-6 up at 11 ends but Plymstock levelled in the next 4 ends and went on to draw 16-all. Eric Fitch’s trio had a bad start, 0-5 after 5 ends but they hung on and levelled 11-all with a count of 4, only to drop 5 shots in the last 3 ends to lose 13-16. Tony Walters’ rink was 6-7 at the break  but they fought an uphill battle in the 2nd half as the home side built up a lead of 8 shots.

Details:- Julie Hadley, Keith Brayne, David Thorne won 18-14. Marion Thorne, Colin Baker, Tim Lewis drew 16-16. Peter Hanford, Garth Gregory, Eric Fitch lost 13-16. Steve Ellis, Sandra Brayne, Tony Walters lost 11-19.
