Paignton v KTBC 20 August

ScotUncategorized

Having been successful at Paignton Torbay last week, Kingsbridge Town travelled to next door neighbours Paignton on Saturday with great hopes of a repeat but these were soon dashed as the hosts opened up a 19 shot lead, 21-40 at half time and this was extended to 52-78 at the end.

Town won on only one rink, skipped by Keith Baston, where the scores were level at 8-all after 11 ends before a surge by Town to lead 18-8 at 15 ends including a count of 5 on end 13. Disappointingly, a count of 6 was then dropped but a single on the last end gave Town a 3 shot victory. On David Thorne’s rink, the scores were shared up to end 7 but counts of 3 and 4 were then dropped and this proved to be the difference as Town lost 13-19. Tim Lewis’s threesome were level at 6-all at 9 ends but the home side then scored 10 shots in the next 4 ends, finally winning by 14 shots. Similarly, Kevin Moore’s rink lost 8 shots on ends 8 to 10 to lose by 9 shots.
