In the second match on Sunday, Town travelled to Paignton for another Mixed Triples Friendly. This has never been a happy hunting ground for Town but on this occasion they won the match by 64-54.
Keith Baston’s rink made steady progress to lead 9-5 at 11 ends when a count of 4 shots opened the floodgates for a 21-7 win. On Eric Fitch’s rink, a great start gave them a 12-0 lead after 8 ends but the home side fought back to reduce the winning margin to 7 shots. Things did not go too well for the other 2 rinks. David Thorne’s trio were 4-12 down at half time but pulled the deficit back to 5 shots whileTim Lewis’s team dropped 6 shots after the break and this proved to be the difference.
