Kingsbridge Town travelled to Marldon on Sunday for a Mixed Friendly. Having won by just 6 shots at home, Town expected a close contest and after 14 ends the scores were tied 48-all but Town found hidden reserves in the last 4 ends to win the match by 68 shots to 55.
On Keith Baston’s rink Town was leading by 8-3 but then dropped a count of 4 to lead 8-7 but only 2 shots were scored by the home side in a strong 2nd half as Town won by 11 shots. On Kevin Moore’s rink, Town was 2-6 down after 5 ends but a count of 5 in the next end gave them the lead which they held to win by 5 shots. Similarly, on the rink skipped by Tim Lewis, Town was 0-7 down after 5 ends but counts of 4 and 3 redressed the balance and 6 shots in the last 3 ends gave them the edge.
