Kingsbridge Town entertained Victoria of Torquay for their 1st home match of the season. Town have not beaten this opponent recently but hopes were high after the fine win at Totnes. Things looked good after 10 ends when Town had an 8 shot overall lead but Victoria raised their game to draw level and finally win on the final end by 3 shots with a score of 61-64.

Although Town won on 3 of the 4 rinks. the other rink, skipped by Keith Baston, slipped from 6-8 at 11 ends to 6-19 at 17 ends and finally lost by 12 shots. Despite this setback, Geoff Bulbulian’s rink looked to be compensating for this loss, but a lead of 17-5 at 14 ends was whittled away by the visitors to 17-11 at the close. Kevin Moore’s rink scored counts of 4 and 6 to lead 15-8 at 10 ends but a count of 6 was dropped in the penultimate end to bring the winning margin down to 2 shots. David Thorne’s rink was involved in a tight match. At 14 ends the score was 10-11 when a count of 4 was dropped on the next end but Town stormed back with a count of 4 on the last end to win by one shot.
