Kingsbridge Town entertained Victoria of Torquay on Saturday for a Mixed Triples Friendly. The conditions were very hot so the captains decided to reduce the number of ends to 14. This was Town’s first match in 3 weeks as the previous 2 matches were cancelled due to poor weather. Any sign of rustiness disappeared as Town opened up a 26-15 lead at the break and finally winning by 50-39.
Kevin Moore’s rink shot out of the traps to open up a 12-1 lead after 7 ends and this lead was maintained as they won by 10 shots. Keith Baston’s rink was all square, 4-all at the break but a run of 9 shots gave them a 10 shot win. On the rink skipped by Eric Fitch, Town were always in front and recorded a 5 shot victory. John Yeabsley’s rink was level 4-all after 6 ends but the visitors then pulled away with a run of 15 shots in the next 7 ends to record their sole victory.
