KTBC v Victoria 27 May

Keith BastonFriendly Match

Town welcomed Victoria of Torquay on Saturday for a Mixed Triples Friendly. The home club were hoping to break their duck as they have never beaten Victoria since fixtures were first arranged in 2012. There was no mistake this time though as Town were quick off the mark to lead 42-18 at the break and an evenly contested 2nd half left the home side as winners by 20 shots, 77-57.

Skip Geoff Bulbulian again led the way as a 0-3 score at 3 ends was reversed by 21 shots in the next 10 ends as they won by 26-10. Similarly, Tim Lewis’s rink, 2-3 down, scored 20 shots as the visitors were restricted to 5 scoring ends in the match. The other 2 rinks did not fare so well as promising positions were lost after tea. David Thorne’s rink, from 11-3 up lost 7 shots in the next 4 ends and a count of 4 by the visitors on the last end put them in front by 2 shots. Keith Baston’s rink was 9-7 up but Victoria pulled back to win by 4 shots
