KTBC v Paignton Torbay 31 August

Keith BastonFriendly Match

Kingsbridge Town made the journey to Paignton Torbay for the 2nd time in a month. This was Town’s ‘home’ match but it was transferred to Paignton due to the poor condition of Town’s green which has been affected by a sewer leak.

Having lost the previous match by 15 shots, Town hoped for better things and this proved to be the case as they coasted to victory by 69 shots to 48.

Town’s most successful rink, skipped by Keith Baston , was 6-9 down at the break but the tables were turned by a great run of 17 shots in the 2nd half as they won by 13 shots. Eric Fitch’s rink held a 12-4 advantage at the break and a run of 7 shots in 3 ends in the 2nd half maintained the lead as Town won by 10 shots. David Thorne’s rink opened  a 6 shot gap at the interval and a count of 4 on the last end ensured the win by 10 shots. Tim Lewis’s rink did not fare so well as the home side scored 10 shots in 5 ends after the interval to win by 12 shots.
