KTBC v Marldon 25 August

Keith BastonFriendly Match

This match was also transferred to the proposed visitors.

In the earlier match with Marldon, Town had lost by 2 shots and history repeated itself as Town went down by 3 shots in a very tightly contested game, 60-63. The result was disappointing as Town held a 37-25 advantage at the break but Marldon raised their game to pip Town on the line.

Tony Walters, in his first match as skip, led his team to a fine win. The scores were 4-4 after 7 ends but 2 counts of 5 and a 6 changed the match in Town’s favour as they won by 18 shots. David Thorne’s rink was involved in a very close match that finished as a draw. Keith Brayne’s rink was 9-2 up at the break but Marldon levelled with 2 ends to go and then scored 7 in the last 2 ends to win by that margin. Tim Lewis’s rink led 5-2 after 4 ends but the home side then scored 2 counts of 4 and they never looked back from there.
