Lee Moor were the visitors on Sunday for a Triples Friendly. The match was in the balance due to morning rain but the captains decided to go ahead and were rewarded with a fine afternoon. Town were quickly into their stride and led 20-4 after 5 ends. The lead was extended to 24 shots at the break and the home side won on all 4 rinks and ran out winners by 85-42.
David Thorne’s rink showed the way as they were 17-0 up at the break and the away side were restricted to 4 scoring ends as Town won 27-5. Tim Lewis’s rink held a 3 shot lead at the break, 9-6, but 11 shots in the next 5 ends gave them a 12 shot winning margin. Geoff Bulbulian’s rink was 3-10 down at half time but counts of 4 and 5 in the 2nd half gave them a 6 shot victory. The opposite occurred on the rink skipped by Keith Baston as a lead of 16-5 with 3 ends to play was nearly wiped out as Lee Moor scored 8 shots to make the final score 16-13.
