Town hosted near neighbours Kingsbridge Park in the South Hams Triples League needing a victory to retain top spot. In the event, Park failed to cope with the conditions caused by heavy overnight rain and Town won by the convincing margin of 74-20.
On Keith Baston’s rink the lead was 12-4 against John Fowler’s trio at the half way mark but the floodgates then opened as 34 shots were scored without reply including successive counts of 6 and 8 on the 12th and 13th ends to give a final score of 46-4.
David Thorne’s rink made a good start against Charlie Dunton’s squad 15-3 with a count of 7 on the 7th end but Park hit back with 7 shots in the next 3 ends to narrow the gap to 5 shots. Town then regained control as 11 shots were scored in 4 ends to win the match by 12 shots.
