Kingsbridge Town welcomed Buckfastleigh on Sunday in the South Devon Mixed Bowling League. Due to various reasons, Town were without several key players and had to field a pair instead of a triple on 1 rink. In recent matches Town have fallen away in the 2nd half of matches but this time they bucked the trend. The score at the interval was 12-21 as all 3 rinks were 4-7 down and with 2 ends to go the visitors held a 25-38 advantage as they were winning on all 3 rinks. Town then got their act together as they scored 10 unanswered shots in the last 2 ends with 2 rinks winning and although they lost the match by 3 shots, 35-38, they shared the match points with a 4-4 draw. In the circumstances this was a very good result.
