Kingsteignton v KTBC [SDMBL]

Keith BastonSouth Devon Mixed Bowling League

Town travelled to Kingsteignton on Monday week for their first match in the new South Devon Mixed Bowling League. This was a very sombre occasion as Club Secretary Tim Lewis, who was due to play in the match, had passed away during the night. Before the match a minute’s silence was observed in memory of Tim.

The above news seemed to have an effect as Town went down in all 3 rinks on the carpet surface which gave the home side an advantage.
Kevin Moore’s rink made a poor start, 2-10 down after 7 ends but they pulled it back in the 2nd half to lose by 4 shots. Similarly, Eric Fitch’s rink was 4-10 down at the break but came back to 11-12 at 14 ends. The home side then scored 5 shot in the last 4 ends to shade the match. On Keith Baston’s rink a tight game was played, 11-15 at 16 ends but 7 shots in the last 2 ends won it for the opponents.
Details:- Tracey Moore, Ray Lancaster, Kevin Moore 13-17.  Keith Collins, John Yeabsley, Eric Fitch 13-17.  Tony Walters, Keith Brayne, Keith Baston 11-22.
Kingsteignton therefore took all 8 league points.
